Since the term was first coined in the 1970s, 4/20 has become a global celebration of cannabis. And there is a lot to celebrate! Cannabis is legal for adult use in 18 states and for medical use in 38 states. To me, the most fascinating thing about cannabis is its growing impact on nearly every part of our culture, especially for women. We spent an entire week on The Stacks talking about banned books. And the thing that kept coming up was the ways in which the history of America is constantly obscured to tell a story that was never there. The attempted bans on "critical race theory" and to erase queer narratives is all part of this effort.

This past November, I was on a road trip — I always get the best ideas in cars — and I decided that I wanted to share the podcasts I was listening to via a hashtag. I had just finished (or was about to finish) participating in Jay Clouse’s #tweet100 challenge, and was inspired by the daily commitment of it all. I usually do share what I’m listening to in some way or another: either on Twitter, Instagram, with friends in DMs, wherever. But I wanted to make an effort to listen to, screenshot, share, and tag podcasts and creators in posts on Twitter.
