Five Gay Ass Podcasts To Close Out Pride Month

This list of podcasts was curated and written by: Eric Williams, host and producer of That’s A Gay Ass Podcast.

Pride’s almost over….and let’s face it. You’re exhausted. Dehydrated. Covered in glitter and caution tape (don’t ask). That’s why I, Eric Williams, have decided to round up a few of my favorite queer podcasts to close out the month. And after you listen, come on down to my Instagram and let me know which one is your favorite. Also let me know who your primary care doctor is…I have a rash that needs to be looked at.

EarBuds is a weekly podcast recommendations newsletter and podcast. We bring subscribers and listeners a theme and five podcast episodes on that theme, and each week is curated by a different person. So, you never have to worry about where you’ll find your next favorite podcast. From time to time, we also put out a mini-list on our blog. We use these mini-lists as a way of putting out topical content for our content partners and podcast friends!

Podcast: Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino

Episode: RHOBH 14 Friends and 23 Rooms

Description: I have to start with the gay podcast PIONEER, sir Danny Pellegrino. He takes the gays’ ancient texts (The Real Housewives on Bravo) and gives recaps that somehow elevate these powerful and tragic heroes. His guests are also (dare I say)...iconic. Last month, he interviewed the man who personally turned me homosexual, The Real World: New Orleans’s Danny Roberts. Woof.

Podcast: That’s A Gay Ass Podcast

Episode: “Women Are Smarter Than Men” with Greg Brown

Description: Oh my god, it’s me! This episode with ASAPScience’s Greg Brown is pure gay joy. He is infuriatingly brilliant and equally infuriatingly funny. We discuss Canadian’s queer icon Celine Dion, the gorilla grip The Beast had on our sexuality growing up, and Canadian’s other queer icon (Avril Lavigne). He also opens my eyes to Survivor host Jeff Probst’s revealing photo that is NAWT to be missed.

Podcast: Like a Virgin

Episode: Millions for the LGBT

Description: Co-host Rose Dommu has one of the best twitter accounts you can possibly follow, and her podcast lives up to her “icon-ery.” Fran Tirado also co-hosts this pop culture podcast that deep dives into so many of my favorite shows and movies that I’m considering calling the cops. (I won’t.) This episode ranges from Real Housewives to The Staircase, so rest assured: the bases are covered.

Podcast: Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang

Episode: “I am Stunning and I Will Survive” with Jeremy Beiler

Description: It is a badge of HONOR that hosts Bowen and Matt have both come on Gay Ass Podcast, as Las Culturistas is one of the best in the game. The references! The gaul! The gaggery! This episode features the showrunner of Matt’s new (wonderful) Showtime series, I Love That For You, and includes a Nancy Meyers tangent that is important and necessary.

Podcast: Midnight Snack with Michelle Collins

Episode: “What a Ship Hole” with Joel Kim Booster

Description: Is host Michelle Collins gay? No. But you know who she is? Every young gay person’s best friend in school. SHE sits next to you at lunch. SHE watches Bring It On with you for the fifteenth time. And her podcast is just like sitting in the back of the bus on your class field trip to the Natural History Museum. From asides with her lovely bestie Dan, to the discussion of my new fave movie, Fire Island, it’s just good. They’re all real real good. And one day, Michelle Collins will be a guest on That’s A Gay Ass Podcast. That’s a promise AND a threat.
