Earth Day 2023: Secrets of the Earth

By: Sheeba Joseph (she/her), Audience Growth Director for Out There Podcast

We all know the power of nature — it’s one of the reasons so many of us made an effort to be outside during the pandemic. But what if nature has more to provide than just a reprieve? What if it holds secrets — or lessons — that can change us profoundly? What would we learn about ourselves, our histories, our traditions, and the world around us on this weekend of Earth Day?

Earth Day is just one day, but the natural world can provide solace and inspiration year-round. With that in mind, the podcast I work for, Out There, has put together an entire season centered on the theme “Secrets of the Earth.” Each episode harnesses the power of the outdoors to uncover truths about ourselves, humanity, and the world around us. Through stories about climate grief, learning how to swim as an adult, and what customs and traditions are learned from other countries, we open ourselves to not only take, but learn from Mother Nature.

This new season of Out There runs April 20th through July 13th, 2023.
